xp-mapedit: How to use the `grow' function?
The XPilot map editor `xp-mapedit' which comes with XPilot 4.5.4 and NG, has a function `Grow', which is avtivated by pressing the respective button. It adds blocks of wall around existing walls "somehow" randomly. Its result also seems to depend on used zoom factor and selection, but I ca...

Request for a new forum: `Maps'
I would like to have a seperate forum related to XPilot maps. Perhaps even one forum for discussion about new maps and map ideas, and a second for discussion and reviews of existing maps. Recently I was browsing through my collection of old maps and so far I have found some interesting maps, which I...

Re: Cleaning up `#ifndef xyz_H #include "xyz.h" #endif'
Having read the related chapter of the GNU C Preprocessor info documentation (`info cpp "Once-Only Headers"'), I created a simple test program. It did include one big include file (which was protected for once-only inclusion, standard way), many times. I made 2 versions of the test program...

Re: New version of the Tutti Frutti map (mods by Vincent)
tuttifrutti-difficult.xp -- Version of the map with the original difficult treasure boxes. I've added the "escape wormholes" to the item concentrator locations (from Vincent's mods). Also moved all item concentrators 1 block towards the center of the "item stores" and increased `...

Re: New version of the Tutti Frutti map (mods by Vincent)
tuttifrutti-easy.xp -- Version of the map with easy treasure boxes. This version has all Vincent's modifications. The treasure boxes are friendly for lagged and inexperienced players ("professionals" will cash your ball even quicker though :). My additional mods: - Moved the "4" ...

Re: New version of the Tutti Frutti map (mods by Vincent)
I've further cleaned up this map. Now I maintain two versions of it, one with easy treasure boxes (designed by Vincent) and one with my original treasure boxes (protected by walls, to make cashing more difficult). See the following two posts in this thread for the descriptions and attached map files.

The `Tutti Frutti' map
EDIT: Don't download this map version. Fetch the updated versions in the newer posts (`tuttifrutti-easy.xp' and `tuttifrutti-difficult.xp'). Attached is a new version of the `Tutti Frutti' map, featuring some modifications made by Vincent, namely: - "Escape wormholes" from the item stores...

src/server/netserver.c: Send_eyes
It seems that no XPilot-server (4.5.x, ng, fxi) ever sends a PKT_EYES to a client. The respective function `src/server/netserver.c: Send_eyes' is present, but never called. Therefore it is not trivial for the client to determine through whose eyes we currently view (i.e. for whom the server sends us...

Put replays and webreplay on the Bloodspilot-website (done)
I think we should place some nice (multiplayer) recordings on the Bloodspilot-website, to raise first look interest. Screenshots don't tell much about this game, nor does text. We could use screenshots as thumbnails for the actual recordings, perhaps a couple of animated GIF-frames. Shouldn't the ja...

Re: What is the the seperate "radar" map good for?
I think I notice the respawning quite well from the HUD-radar basewarning and of course the normal base warning. I'll not add any new stuff to the SDL client for now. I finally got it to compile and "run" (displays something like 5 frames/sec or so on my machine), so I can at least test wh...
