We (the remaining project maintainers) have decided to test the playability of a server that is run on a cheap virtual machine in a shared environment. For starters, check out this server:

XPilot.ktd.krakow.pl (IP: 80.69.175.11 port: 15345)
NOTE: the hostname might change at a later time. We will inform about this in a separate announcement.

The server is running the official XPilot code with the ranking patch. The ranking is available here: http://xp.ktd.krakow.pl/~xpilot/ranks/rank-15345.html. We are eagerly awaiting feedback on your experience (especially link quality). Enjoy!

The server seems to behave normally, but walls should be set up for no fuel drain (was it `wallbouncedrain'?).
I did not notice a difference in responsiveness compared to other servers on your machines.
Nevertheless I prefer ng servers for high fps, nicer wallbounces etc.

The ranking date is "lagging" by 1 month. We had a fix for this somewhere.

Haha! Nice to see you are still around. Thanks for testing. Since there is no big difference in responsiveness between that server and rotunda.wibro.agh.edu.pl, perhaps for now I will leave the latter on, running ng.
