Correct I sometimes go fishing for players to the IRC channel.

Another solution would be for people to join a server and float. When somebody else joins, the client window should blink or attract attention in some other way.

I've set it up now so that my computer plays a music signal when someone joins the server where I wait-float.
That's the best solution for me so far. The only problem remaining is that none of you cowards do join.
And of course there is no newbie help so that no newbie joins.
