Primary Bloodspilot-X11-Client development targets
There is no point in releasing a new version before both * a real newbie-help and * in-client key-configuration are integrated. All other improvements are of little importance for newbies. If you don't share this view I suggest that you try out some other (multiplayer action) games which are new to ...

Re: Where did everybody go?
Don't expect any miracles. The day with 4 or more players on a single map is unlikely to come. If you are still interested in the game, just join a server and leave the client idling in the background. Do whatever work you are doing and keep a bit of the xpilot client window visible, so that you can...

Preparing a new client release
In the process of preparing a new client tarball release, so far I've compiled a `NEWS' file which contains the most important changes in the current client code base since the last release (1.4.0 from 2007-12-11). I looked up the changes from the `git whatchanged' output, which is like: http://bloo...

Adding new files to the client distribution? Make targets.
A while ago I added the file `src/client/event.h' (to support display of pressed keys). Apparently this file is in the bloodspilot GIT-repository at sourceforge, _but_ it seems that the file is still unknown to the GNU-autotools build-process. Experimenting with several make targets, like `dist-gzip...

Re: Who implemented dirPrediction?
Yes, kps removed the round-trip-time from the direction pointer (in 2007 IIRC). Throat was interested to put this feature into the official ng client, but I think this was not done yet. The main annoyance I have/had with dirprediction, is that sometimes the ship direction jumps back and force while ...

Re: Propose better default settings (mainly keys)
Sure, your setup is interesting to me. Would also like to get some insight what other players use. Not only to maybe improve my own setup, but also to create better defaults. Your setup suggests that you swap scalefactor regularly!? I find a lower sf useful when going low speed, like fighting to def...
