A quick lap (16.90 seconds) at ConnectorRace.
I upload the attached recording for several reasons: 1. As an example for how much better `xz' compresses compared to `gzip'. (Sizes in bytes: uncompressed: 9376541, gzip: 3280904, xz: 1765684. compression ratios: gzip: 2.9, xz: 5.3.) 2. To demonstrate the fun idea of this map. Note that track condi...

Compression of xpilot recordings (xpr) using `xz'
Xprs are usually compressed with the `gzip' tool. The `bzip2' tool had generally worse (lower) compression ratios. But the newer `xz' tool gives much better ratios than gzip. I've created a small sh(-awk)-script, which was useful to do a quick analysis of my xpr collection. I'll attach it to this po...

New map `ConnectorRace'
Playable prototype of a new (AFAIK) kind of xpilot race map. You can use the ball-connector/-disconnector on balls placed inside corner walls. This will swing your ship around corners rapidly. Balls and -connectors are set up to allow very fast cornering. Wall bounce speeds are low currently. Theref...

New map `Xess' in several versions.
(Somewhat loose) Conversion of a classic board game (guess which :). The targets are a bit different for both teams, because I haven't decided yet which version is better. I'd like to test the map on humans and get some feedback, ideas etc. Tested with xpilot-ng-server 4.7.3. Edit 2015-07-18: Replac...

Banning inaccessible servers from the meta list
Recently the xpilot meta server is massively spammed with inaccessible servers. For example today there are about 300 servers with the map `Lifeless' all from the same IP address. An easy solution could be to change the default value of the xpilot server option `reportMeta' from `true' to `false'. T...

New map version: `monsters in the middle using advanced technology'
Inspired by all your feedback, I created a new version of the `Equipped Robots' map.
It's called `monsters in the middle using advanced technology' and attached here.

Re: Cluster Debris' Grandprix IIa - Ideas
Cluster, could you upload your `Grandprix' map variations here? I'd like to try them locally. I quite liked them.

Several prototype maps with armed robots
Attached are 2 prototype maps with armed robots. The robots in team 0 pass item concentrators when launching from their base. This makes them a bit more interesting opponents. I got the idea from Vincent's beautiful experimental map "The Factory (strange machines)". The map layout of both ...
