Re: New duel ball "race" maps: `Parallel Slalom' -> `U-Slalo
`U-Slalom' - Second prototype of a two player parallel ball race on identical courses. This is an evolution of `Parallel Slalom'. The unplayable bases and distracting decor lines have been removed. The courses are now 2 identical U shapes and thus the course is about twice as long as `Parallel Slalo...

New duel ball "race" maps: `Parallel Slalom' -> `U-Slalom'
Prototype of a two player parallel ball race on identical courses. If this turns out to be interesting, then we could make a nicer version, with more variable obstacles. The decor lines would also be removed for a final version (they helped while drawing the map). Rotunda, would be nice if you could...

Some general ideas about development
* Please COMMENT everything which is not trivial. Add comments for each source file, function, variables and whatever is not easily self explaining. I propose something like my comment templates in `bloodspilot2-clients/src/comment_templates.txt'. Comments are not a waste of time. To the contrary, t...

Re: bloodspilot-client-sdl TODO
Some more ideas, partially related to the SDL client. * IMHO it would be better to develop the SDL client in the ng repository. That way all relevant components (client, server, replay, map editors, ...) are in one place and are also available as a debian package (from the official repository). Why ...

Re: bloodspilot-client-sdl TODO
* Regarding NEW CONFIGURATION MODES: Basic and expert modes sound sensible. If you place options in categories (which also sounds sensible at first), you need to choose the categories and related options very carefully. Otherwise it may happen that, contrary to your original intention, configuration...

Re: A unified and portable client
I would probably be happy with the sdl client if it had all the nice features that I like about the bloodspilot x11 client. The thing I miss the most about the sdl client is recording functionality. Especially buffered recording, so that I can review any interesting scene later. I guess it would be ...

Angeba's bloodspilot client configurations
Attached are my two bloodspilot client configurations. One is used for Bloods Music-like maps, the other one is for item maps. Feedback is appreciated. Further explanations are in the config files themselfs. PS.: I had to append the `.xp' file extension. The board did neither accept a file without e...

My opinion on the Bloodspilot fxi xpilot server
To me this server is a failed experiment. It's irritating to see wrong things in extrapolated frames (e.g. balls/shots flying through ships, ships flying through walls). A fxi server which generates 50 frames per second, only calculates each 4th frame for real, that is 12.5 frames per second (like o...

How to get the bloodspilot client(s) development version
First you need the `git' command, to fetch a copy of the client source tree. On Ubuntu (I guess most other linux distributions too) this command is part of the `git-core' package. Install it using your favourite package tool (e.g. apt-get, aptitude, synaptic). Next, in a shell change to a directory ...

Remove textures
I only see one positive thing with textures, eye candy. They may look cute. Now the negative points. They obstruct visibility (e.g. HUD (-radar), (downscaled) item symbols). To me textures look uglier than (antialiased) lines (e.g. ships). Textures simply do not improve the game for me. Also I do no...
